COVID-19 situation
With many confirmed cases of COVID-19 around the world and increasing travel restrictions, RMIT is closely monitoring the situation and taking advice from relevant authorities. RMIT will communicate directly with individuals if this evolving situation has an impact on student travel and planned global experience activities.

If you are a student, we recommend that you check the student FAQs.
Important C-19 Update - inbound and outbound overseas global experiences
Update (Sep 2020): RMIT Melbourne has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel all inbound and outbound overseas global experience programs up until the end of Semester 1 2021.

We recognise that this may be disappointing, however this decision has been made with the safety of our students in mind.

The University’s foremost goal is to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community. As the pandemic continues, many countries have imposed strict border controls, restricted overseas travel and implemented physical distancing measures, which may last for some time. These measures mean that overseas global experience programs will, unfortunately, not be tenable in Sem 1 2021.

Our office is committed to supporting global experiences for students and is looking at alternative ways to deliver programming, including the potential for students to defer their global experience to a later period. Students will be provided with more information as decisions are made
