About your Experience
Study Abroad program is similar to studying on a Semester/Year Exchange program, however you study at an institution where we do not have an exchange agreement or where we have very limited places for exchange students.

Study Abroad students will be required to pay the Host Institution tuition fees upfront and will not be eligible to get this paid on HECS-HELP.  Study Abroad applicants will not pay RMIT tuition fees.

The benefit of a Study Abroad program is you are not limited in your choice for destination or institution.

How to Apply

>> STEP 1:
Do some research on the institutions you are interested in studying at:
- Are they accepting Study Abroad or fee paying students?
- How much does tuition cost?
- Where is the application form?
- What is the application deadline?
- Where are the course outlines?
- What are the semester dates?
- What else is may be required?

>> STEP 2:
Discuss your proposal with your school Program Coordinator at RMIT and get a Study Plan approved.

>> STEP 3:
Submit the application form and the supporting documents to the host institution before their deadline.
Students are responsible for following up on the progress of their application with the host institution.

>>STEP 4:
Register your Study Abroad with RMIT Global Experience Office via this program in Mobi, click on the "Apply Now" button at the top of the page.  Make sure that you register for the correct RMIT semester/year.

Ensure that you upload your Study Plan in your Study Abroad Program Registration on Mobi.

>>STEP 5:
Once your application is received by RMIT Global Experience Office and your Study Plan has been checked, your status will be changed to "Nominated by RMIT". You will then be required to upload your Host Acceptance on Mobi.

Once you upload your Host Acceptance, RMIT Global Experience Office will send you a Mobility Confirmation Letter with specific Study Abroad enrolment codes that you will need to be enrolled in while abroad.

You will also be sent information about our Pre-departure Sessions and instructions about the iSoS e-Learning Module and MyTrips registration that you will need to complete prior to departing for your Study Abroad program. These sessions and resources will ensure that you are set up with the tools to keep you safe during your time overseas.

If you have any further questions, please contact RMIT Global Experience Office.
