About your Experience
Vietnam Jo 2018Program details:

This study tour will provide an exciting and flexible learning alternative to traditional classroom based learning through an inter-disciplinary project with students in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Fashion and Textile Merchandising) in Vietnam.  Fully integrated as a major assignment for Fashion Design Professional Practice 1, it will deliver an immersive and practical understanding of how fashion collections are produced in industry.
The tour includes visits to factories, retail precincts, designers’ studios and cultural institutions in and around Ho Chi Minh City as well as guest lectures from a range of industry representatives.

About Fashion Design Professional Practice 1
Professional Practice 1 introduces you to the Australian fashion industry by investigating the systems of manufacture that produce fashion collections for different levels of the market.
Through an analysis of market segmentation, branding and manufacturing processes, you will be able to critically evaluate the quality of garment production in the context of consumer expectations.

Program cost
The approximate total cost of this program is AU$2,100.
Costs include the following:
  • Material Costs (daily incidentals including transport) - $200
  • Flights and 9 nights of accommodation - $1,900 (approx)
Additional costs to consider:
  • Host country visa (if applicable) It is students responsibility to arrange their visa (Australian students will be required to obtain a Tourist visa)

Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

Academic Credit Application and Selection process

STEP TWO: Approved students will be notified from 03 August 2018
STEP THREE: Students will commit to the tour and complete ‘post decision’ pre-departure modules in Mobi

Cancellation fee
If you withdraw from the program after Friday 10 August 2018 you may incur financial penalties.
