Program Details:

Gain unique insights into the operations of a number of large US and Europe corporations, as well as regulatory bodies responsible for the oversight of US and Europe corporate accounting practices. 

First hand opportunity to compare and contrast the practices and regulations of business generally and, particularly in Australia, the US and Europe.

Program Cost:
Tour costs:  Approximately $8,223 *  ($8,856 if non-Australian passport holder) 
*Students do not need to make any arrangements, payment covers the tour costs and is arranged as a group booking. 
  • Tour costs include:
  • Flights& Land Travel
  • Accommodation (twin share basis in 4 star hotels, breakfast included)
  • Specified sightseeing & meals
  • Site Visits
  • Tipping at hotels and arrival porterageSuccessful students will make payment to an RMIT-arranged travel agent.
Successful students will be required to make a $750 deposit to the travel agent to secure their place on the study tour.

Additional cost:  
RMIT tuition fees for a 12 credit point course.  
Spending money 
Students are now covered by RMIT’s travel insurance, although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances

Enrolment and Academic Credit 
Academic Credit:If successful in your application, you will enrol online in one of the following 12 credit point courses:
ACCT2190 (Pgrad) Global Accounting Practices
ACCT2191 (Ugrad) Global Accounting Practices

Assessments may include:

Written Work
Oral Presentations
Reflective Journal
Active Participation

Eligibility:
 
  • Have previously completed at least one Accounting course
  • Completion of ACCT1110 Financial Reporting & Regulations or ACCT1048 Financial Accountability & Reporting highly desirable
  • Be currently enrolled in an RMIT program
  • International students must NOT be in the last semester of studies before the Global Intensive (Sem 1 2018)
  • Have completed or achieved the equivalent of at least 1 semester of academic study at RMIT at the time of application deadline. (36cp FT/12cp  PT). This criterion does not apply to postgraduate students
  • Have one general elective available in your program plan
  • If not a College of Business student, have written approval to participate from your home College to ensure the electives will fit into your program. Please use this template

Cancellation Fees:
This program will have an unique "Last Day to Add" and "Census" dates. These dates will be communicated to you on offer.
If you withdraw after the Census date, you will still be liable for tuition fees, as per standard enrolment policy.
You will forfeir your deposit if withdrawing after paying your deposit to the travel agent.

Late withdrawal penalty of $350 charged by RMIT

 
Application and Selection process

Step 1:Register via Mobi by clicking on 'Apply Now' below
Select the 'Summer 2018' term
You do not need to fill in the questionnaires at this stage.

The exception is if you are not a College of Business student.  You must have written approval to participate from your home College to ensure the electives will fit into your program. Please use this template and upload it to your Mobi application.

Step 2:Once your application has been submitted, we will get in touch within a week of your application to confirm the next steps!


Funding:
There may be alternative ways to fund your trip, such as OS_HELP. Please check the Scholarships website and Global Mobility website for funding options. If you are applying for OS-HELP, make sure you meet the criteria before paying the $750 deposit.
