International Internships

Program Dates: Programs start between January - March and end between September - November, depending on student preference
Availability: 12 x places available

On this program students will complete one eight-month or two four-month internships in their discipline area in the bustling metropolis of Jakarta. Outside of work hours the program will comprise of language classes, networking events and capacity-building workshops to help students build a professional skill set. Students will also attend two days of Business in Asia training, where they will meet business and government leaders and learn about the economic and cultural environment in Indonesia and Asia more broadly. This program will give students an in-depth and balanced insight into working in the Asia-Pacific, as well as developing skills and connections for future careers.

Eligibility:
This program is open to students eligible to undertake their Business Co-op year, as part of one of the following degrees:
  • Professional Accounting
  • Business Information Systems
  • Economics & Finance
  • International Business
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Management
  • Marketing
Program Cost:
The cost of this program is $7,000 and includes the following. $7000 grants are available to support the program cost (subject to eligibility).
 
What is included:
  • Internship placement
  • Lots of support before leaving Australia and while you are in Indonesia. This includes working with you to enhance your CV and prepare for your interview
  • Two months accommodation
  • Orientation on your arrival
  • 10 hours of language classes
  • Activities, networking events and weekend trips
  • Workshops and professional development sessions
  • Catch-ups with a mentor to discuss your internship
  • Allocation of a student buddy from the local university
  • Some meals
  • Visa sponsorship
  • 24/7 support during your internship

  • Additional travel insurance coverage, if applicable
Travel Insurance:
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

Application Process:
  • Students apply directly to International Internships
    • Applications must be submitted at least 4 months prior to your intended start date.
    • You will be required to submit the following documents:
      • Resume/CV
      • Statement of Intent

  • Students who have been accepted by International Internships will be instructed to register on Mobi. 
    • Please note a $400 deposit will be required on acceptance of your place in the program. If you are unsuccessful in securing a placement, your deposit will be refunded in full. 
Funding:
Summer 2018 - There are 12 x $7,000 New Colombo Mobility Grants available to eligible Australian citizens enrolled in a bachelor/bachelor honours program. 

There may be alternative ways to fund your trip. Please check the Scholarships website and Global Experience website for funding options.
