Program Details:
  • Tour Leader: Michael Trudgeon and Jessica Wood
  • Availability: 5 x places
This program will focus on 2-3 urban sites. These sites have been selected by the city as key sites for the European Cultural Capital program and now require master planning and design development with the intention of realising projects on these sites for 2018. The projects include the following:
  • Design of a pop-up 3D printing lab to explore new manufacturing possibilities for the norther Netherlands
  • Energy park and expo to explore and promote new resilient energy technologies
  • Modular refurbishment of a network of empty buildings into pop up accommodation and business incubators
The projects take in the disciplinary expertise of industrial and interior design within a framework of architectural, landscape and urban design. Participants will develop design interventions to transform the existing built environment and systems of provision for a sustainable, low carbon, resilient future. 

Academic Credit:
  • Gain up to 24 credit points towards a design studio.
Eligibility:
This program is open to Industrial Design, Architecture and Interior Design students only.

2017 Funding:
There are 5 x $1000 RMIT mobility grants available for the Spring 2017 term.
