Program details:
  • Dates: 16 June to 13 July 2019
  • Availability: up to 5 fee and accommodation waiver places
  • Host institution: Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE)

Spend four weeks over your winter break studying in one of the world's most vibrant and fascinating cities, Shanghai. This Program consists of basic Chinese course, lectures with the topics of business, economics, finance, business law, management and Chinese cultures, culture experience, field trips and activities with local students.  Learn Chinese culture in a genuine Chinese way and meet new friends from different backgrounds.

This program is "Learning Business & Culture" and is hosted by SUIBE which is located in the attractive and convenient central business district of Shanghai.

Academic Credit:
  • This summer program is not for credits. There is no course syllabus for this program apart from from the 3S program information.
Program Costs:
Accommodation is covered from start to end date of the summer program (16 June to 13 July 2019). Students will be paired and accommodated with standard double rooms in the apartment hotel at Gubei campus. Free internet access is provided.

Additional costs to consider but not limited to:

  • Chinese Visa - You will be provided with a letter of invite from SUIBE to support your application.

Travel Insurance:
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

Application Process:
1. Apply on Mobi by clicking on the above "Apply/Register now" button by 15 March 2019.
- Students are required to include the 2019-Application form for RMIT.doc for the 3S program (no hand-written form), and one page statement of purpose explaining why you want to participate in the 3S program (how this experience will benefit you academically, culturally and personally).
- Upload the 2019-Application form (including a passport sized photo) in PDF format to Questionnaires > 2. Short Term Mobility: General Information > 5. Additional Supporting Documents 

2. RMIT Global Experience Office will shortlist (and notify students) and forward the list of students to SUIBE by 30  March 2019.
3. Students will be notified of the outcome by RMIT Global Experience Office in May 2019 (TBC), and advised of the next steps.
