About your Experience

Program Details:

  • Dates: 12 - 26 September 2017
  • Availability: min 15 to max 18 places
  • This program is about engaging with the greater community of design disciplines. You will be participants in the London Design Festival (LDF) designing for, and contributing to an exhibition (hosted at the London College of Communication) as an event in the 2017 LDF programme. You will also attend select LDF events to network and critique creative discipline events. Assignments will ask you to design for, respond to, and reflect on the LDF study tour experience. 
Program Cost:
Total cost is approximately AU$ 4600.
Breakdown as follows:
  • $1675 Flights (group airfare)
  • $2670 Accommodation (shared rooms)  
  • $100 Travel Agent booking fee 
  • $155 Entrance Fees (The London Design Festival, September 2017 program has not yet been released. There are more than 400 events each year. We will book some events as a group, while students will also be able to attend other events independently.)  
Other costs to consider but not limited to:

  • Host country visa (if applicable)
  • RMIT Tuition fees
  • Personal expenses
  • Additional travel insurance
** Students are now covered by RMIT’s travel insurance, although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances. For more info, please refer here.

Cancellation Fee:
  • Before deposit is paid: no cancellation fee applied.
  • After deposit paid* and prior to final payment: deposit ($500) is not refundable.
  • After final payment paid and prior to departure**: full fee ($4600) non refundable.
  • After travel has commenced: non refundable.  
* All deposits paid are non refundable — deposit due 14 days after confirmation: TBC (have to be check with the travel supplier)
**Final payment due 50 days prior to departure: Monday 24 July 

  • Only 2nd and 3rd year Communication Design students
Academic Credit (as advised by your RMIT program coordinator):
  • GRAP2643 Studio 3 (second year students) / GRAP2251 Studio 5 (third year students)
Application process:
  • Students will be invited to submit an expression of interest 
  • EOI’s will be reviewed by the Global Intensive Leader and Communication design Program Manager 
    Preference will be given to 3rd year students and those who have already been involved in the INTERACT Mobility Project 
  • Register on Mobi by 1 July 2017
The following grants are available for the Spring 2017 term:
  • 10 x $2,000 Endeavour Grants to the first 10 local students, and
  • 4 x $500 RMIT mobility Grants to the first 4 international students.
