Program Details:

The Clinic Abroad program to Tokyo College of Chiropractic (TCC), Japan commenced in 2013.  During the two-week program, students gain valuable clinical experience in the assessment and management of patients in the TCC Shimbashi Outpatient Centre under supervision from staff of TCC.  

During the two-week Study Abroad program students gain clinical experience in undertaking evidence-based clinical assessment and management of patients under experienced practitioners of the Tokyo College of Chiropractic.  The clinical experience gained will enable further progression towards meeting the clinical requirements of the course whilst increasing cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Program Cost:
The approximate cost of this program is AU$1700. This cost includes the following
  • Return airfares (students will be travelling together to Tokyo)
  • Accommodation in Tokyo
  • Local Transport
Additional costs to consider, but not limited to:
  • Food
  • Personal expenditure
  • Health insurance (if applicable)
  • Travel insurance (if applicable)
  • Host country visa (if applicable)
  • RMIT tuition fee
Travel Insurance:
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

  • Only Chiropractic BP280 students enrolled in REHA2240 who have met the requirements to undertake external clinical placement

Application process:
  1. Apply for this program using the "Apply Now" button by 28 May 2018. 
    • Students will be required to apply via Mobi by completing the following Questionnaires in full:
      • Outbound Mobility: General Information
      • Short-term Mobility: General Information
        • Applicants are required to submit a 2000 word Clinic Abroad Application Essay covering the following: 
          'The common conditions and public health issues in Japan and your suitability as a member of the Clinic Abroad team, including relevant previous volunteer experience'.
  2. After the deadline, successful students will be contacted of the outcome and required to 'Accept' their place in the program.
    • Successful applicants must have completed all University Hill Exit Requirements.
Cancellation Policy:
Students must withdraw their offer of acceptance prior to 18 June or a cancellation fee of $200 will apply. 

Pre-departure session:
Successful applicants will be required to attend a compulsory pre-departure session prior to departure. Further details will be provided to successful applicants.
