Program Host: Challenges Abroad Australia
Program Dates: 12 January - 2 February 2019
Availability: 15 x places available

Program Details:
  • On the Cambodia Alternative Animation Placement students will use their skills to teach local Cambodian children about animation, focusing on drawing skills and stop-start animation. Students will be tasked with providing engaging, fun and interactive lessons that will engross both children and teachers, breaking their cycle of rote-learning and providing them with a new medium to express themselves and tell their stories.
  • Students will have the opportunity to:
    • lead lo-fi animation and media workshop classes
    • get hands on and help with facilities upgrades
    • organise a showcase of both their own and Cambodian students’ work for their family and community members.

  • This program is open to students enrolled in Bachelor of Arts/Design (Animation and Interactive Media) and completing the COMM2213 Alternative Animation course.
Academic Credit:
  • Gain 12 Credit Points towards your degree
  • Enrol into COMM2213 - Alternative Animation for Flex Term Summer 2019
Program Cost:
The approximate total cost of this program is AU$2350.
This cost includes the following:

Travel Insurance:
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

Application and Registration Process:
1. Apply directly Challenges Abroad by 28 September 2019.
2. Upon acceptance into the program, register through Mobi by 31 October 2018. Complete the following questionnaires:
  • Outbound Student Mobility: General Information
  • Short Term Mobility: General Information
3. The RMIT Global Experience Office (GEO) will review and process your registration, and provide you with additional information such as predeparture.
