Program Details:
  • Program leader: Jason Wong
  • Program Dates: 12 November  to 08 December 2018
  • Availability:  up to 12 places
  • Location: Selected student will be based in one of the following cities: Xuzhou (Jiangsu), Wuhan, Guangdong
RMIT students will be paired with local Chinese undergraduate PE students to learn about learning and teaching in Chinese schools.

Program Cost:
Costs to consider are:
  • Flights (approximately $1,200)
  • Accommodation at a student hostel with air conditioning and internet (approximately $1,000)
  • Transport from accommodation to host institution (approximately $200)
  • Meals (approximately $500)
  • Visa (approximately $150)
  • Entertainment and sightseeing costs are extras (approximately $500)

  • RMIT Tuition Fee
  • Other Personal Expenditure
  • Additional travel insurance coverage
Travel Insurance:
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

Eligibility:
This program is only available to students enrolled in BP041 Bachelor of Applied Science (Health and Physical Education) and BP319 Bachelor of Health, Physical Education and Sport (Secondary).

Academic Credit:
  • Gain up to 12 credit points towards your degree by enrolling into TCHE2589 Cross-Cultural Teaching and Learning
Registration process:
  • Students accepted in to this program will be required to register on Mobi by 12 October 2018 by completing the following questionnaires:

    • Short Term Mobility: General Information 
Funding:
For the Summer 2018, there are 12 x $3,000 New Colombo Plan mobility grants available to Australian citizens undertaking a bachelor or bachelor honours degree.
