The program promotes cross-cultural collaboration with mentor teachers, local pre-service teachers (where possible) and develops inter-cultural understanding in all participants including school students. The consortia bid includes embedded cultural programs, a teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) module, inter-cultural awareness workshops that includes Bahasa Malay language learning. The practicum days contribute to the mandatory course requirement of 80 days professional experience that all Bachelor’s level students must complete to obtain their Victorian Teacher Registration.

Program Cost:
The approximate cost of this program is AU$1,500.
This cost includes the following:

Eligibility:
This program is only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) or Bachelor of Education (Primary and Early Childhood Education).

Academic Credit:
  • Gain credits towards your degree by enrolling into:
    • TCHE2541 - Early Childhood Teacher as Researcher
    • TCHE2464 - Leadership in Early Childhood
Registration Process:
  1. Students who have been shortlisted should register through this page by 11 April.

Funding:
For the Autumn 2018 term, the following grants are available:
  • 17 x $3,000 New Colombo Plan Grants for eligible Australian citizens enrolled in a Bachelor/Bachelor Honours program. 
There may be alternative ways to fund your trip. Please check the Scholarships website and Global Experience website for funding options.
