The Humanitarian Design Summit is an immersive study tour designed to broaden your perspectives of design and engineering in a complex environment while building professional skills. The program teaches hands-on skills drawn from EWB's community engagement principles and approaches while giving you the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone. The Design Summit has been designed to provide you professional engineering work experience and enhance your personal, community development and design skills.

Samoa is a South Pacific gem; beautiful blue beaches and jovial locals with broad, warm smiles. It's rich in natural resources including a variety of fishery and forestry resources, colourful wild birds and a myriad of animals. You'll explore the interaction of community livelihood activities on natural resource consumption, including fishing, planting crops, farming, raising livestock and logging from the forest in neighbouring areas.
