Students participating in this program will be working in the town of Urubamba in the region known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This community is located 1.5 hours away from Cusco, in the southern part of Peru. The town of Urubamba has kept its Spanish colonial architecture and, although shadowed by the iconic Machu Picchu, this region also attracts tourists due to the mesmerising mountains and the Inca sites found in the area.

Students will focus on building a conducive learning environment with partnered schools while teaching English lessons and conducting extra-curricular activities with their students. Lessons should be delivered in an engaging, fun and interactive way that will engage children and teachers alike, breaking the cycle of rote-learning. Students will also have the option to travel on a 1 week tour of Machu Picchu following the end of their placement.
