ITESM summer 2018Program details
  • Host institution:  Tec de Monterrey (ITESM) - Mexico City
  • Program dates: 29 May –29 June 2018
Study at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Mexico City campus over the RMIT winter break. See here for more information about the program, including its cultural activities.

NOTE: this program is not appropriate for students who have Melbourne on-campus examinations for Semester 1, 2018.

Academic credit at RMIT
This is an opportunity for you to gain credit for your degree during the RMIT mid-semester break.
  • The exact credit will need to be discussed with your RMIT Program Coordinator. You will need to complete a study plan as part of your application as per the application process below.
  • 6 credits is usually equivalent to 12 RMIT credit points
NOTE: this program is part of a reciprocal exchange agreement; if selected you will enrol into EXTL placeholder courses for which you will pay tuition fees to RMIT.

Program cost
ITSEM has waived the following costs for TBC RMIT students
  • Tuition fee $US2000
Additional costs to consider (but not limited to):
  • Housing fee $US200-500 per month
  • Insurance $US200 (per month)
  • Meals
  • Flights
  • RMIT tuition fee
  • Host country visa (if applicable)
  • Personal expenditure
 ** RMIT student travel insurance:
Students are now covered by RMIT’s travel insurance, although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances. For more info, please see here.
 
Accommodation
Students will receive a list of independent house renting document previously arranged by international programs office. The houses selected have been habituated as student’s residences with all services included (phone, laundry, kitchen); the options are walking distance from the Campus. Students can also select a different housing option, it is not mandatory to stay in the options provided by Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Application and selection process
STEP 1: apply via Mobi by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button above by 6 April 2018.
Your application must include:
  1. Academic Approval: your RMIT school-approved study plan. See here for more information about seeking study plan approval.
  2. A statement of purpose about why you want to participate in this program and how it will benefit you personally and academically.
STEP 2: Successful applicants will then be nominated to the host institution
STEP 3: If nominated, you will then be contacted by Global Experiences, who will advise you about the next stage of your application. You will need to complete an application to the host institution by 7 May 2018
