Program Details:

ArtBound Initiative (ABI) connects students and recent graduates with key players in the creative industry in New York, Berlin and Hong Kong. ABI will help participants secure a tailored internship and coordinate all logistics including housing, internship visa, and insurance. Join the ABI program to become part of an international community of creative professionals.

Eligibility:
This program is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.0. 

Academic Credit:
Business students can gain up to 12 credit points towards your degree by enrolling into BUSM4471 - Business Internship.

If you are not a Business student or you would like to seek alternate credit, please check with your program coordinator.
If you're eligible for credit, we recommend that you get the approval in the form of a study plan.

Program Cost:
The approximate cost of this program is USD$2,950. This cost includes the following:

    • ABI curated events including artist studio visits, gallery tours and shows
    • ABI City Guide on the local creative scene
    • Resources on local networking opportunities
    • Access to international network of alumni and industry professionals

  • Travel Insurance (additional coverage, if applicable)
Travel Insurance:
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances.

Application Process:
  1. Apply directly to Artbound Intiative 6 months prior to your intended start date.
    • You will need to submit:
      • Two letters of recommendation
      • Current Resume/CV and Portfolio (if applicable)
      • Essay Please write one or more essays that include responses to ALL of the following questions. (Each answer should be 100 words minimum to 250 words maximum). 
        • Please describe any previous experience in or related to the creative industry and what you have gained.
        • What are your career aspirations and how can this program help you achieve them?
        • Describe your ideal internship placement and the skills you hope to develop.
  2. Artbound Initiative will arrange for a Skype interview to discuss personal interest, professional skills and expectations about the program.
  3. Artbound Initiative will provide students with an application outcome.

  1. Successful students must register with RMIT through this page after you've been accepted by Artbound Initiative.

        • Please submit your acceptance letter under "Supporting Documents"
Funding:
Artbound Initiative offers students scholarships of USD$1,000 to cover costs. To apply for this scholarship, please see here.
