Industrial design ChibaProgram details
  • Host institution: Chiba University and RMIT
  • Program dates: 11 - 22 February 2019
  • Availability: 15 - 20 students
The New Product Design Industrial Design Winter Workshop, hosted by Chiba University, Japan will be particularly attractive to Industrial Design students. Running during the Melbourne summer semester break, this will allow students to complete one of their elective / program optional courses outside the main semesters.

Eligibility
  • Students in the following programs only BH100, BH104, BH093 and BH118 students only
Academic credit at RMIT
This is an opportunity for you to gain credit for your degree during the RMIT mid-semester break.
  • The exact credit will need to be discussed with your RMIT Program Coordinator. You will need to complete a study plan as part of your application as per the application process below.
NOTE: if approved to receive academic credit you will enrol into study abroad EXTL placeholder courses for which you will pay not tuition fees to RMIT.

Program cost
The fee for this program is approximately: $AU1500 (¥120000)
This includes:
  • Tuition for intensive workshop
  • Field trip/s

Student travel insurance
Students on approved overseas activities receive complimentary travel insurance (policy number: 41443), although you may require additional cover depending on your circumstances. For more detailed information, please refer here

Funding
There are:
  • 15 x $3000 New Colombo Plan mobility grants available for eligible students to undertake this program!
There may be alternative ways to fund your trip. Please check the Scholarships website and Global Experience website for funding options.

STEP 1: Submit Expression of Interest directly to Liam Fennessy here by 24 Sept 2018
STEP 2: Students will be shortlisted and notified
STEP 3: Shortlisted students will then be directed to register via Mobi by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button above by 16 December
Your application must include:
  1. Academic Approval: your RMIT school-approved study plan or letter noting that this course will count towards one of your program electives. See here for more information about seeking study plan approval.
STEP 4: Students will then need to complete RMIT predeparture requirements
